Damn those summer doldrums

Yup, it is starting early. The summer doldrums. The endless weeks that go by without a decent session. This weekend is also the first of many hazy, smoggy, and humid periods to come. Synonymous with thermal killing.

Hate to publish negative posts... but sheesh! Give me a good session already! ARGH!!!

Time to brush up the geckos.

Wind has been lacking in Alberta too. I've been skateboard sailing to try and get a fix here in Calgary. Not much wind needed to have some fun. But, we finally have some wind coming today. Get it while I can...

Skate sailing is pretty fun eh! A lot can be learned in the freestyle department for sure on a skateboard!

No sailable wind there either? When are you going to the Gorge?

You can have some of ours, Its blowing around 40 - 50 knots at the mo and its oTT. If you guys take 15 - 20 knots that will make it just managable.

Sign us up! We have got a ton of 10-15kts so it seems lately. Even just another 5-10 on that would be helpful!

Waiting to see some footage and action from this reported '50-yr' storm. Has it materialized that way in terms of swell size?

I remember being away on the crazy Waitangi Day and missing the 11m swell that came into Lyall Bay. Would have loved to witness that insanity!

Skate sailing is definitely more fun than i thought it would be. And i just realized the US 77 sail number on my beatup Ezzy 3.7 i'm using for skate sailing was Jake Miller's. Ha. Cool.

I hit the Gorge the week of the 17th of May. Not great weather. It blew for 3 of the 6 days i was there. Still better than nothing!

Alberta has been crappy. We've had some good puffs, but over a very short period of time (1/2 day). This makes it hard to get out when you are 1.5 to 2.5 hours from the good locations. Our temps are at least 10 Celsius below norms and we are getting lots of rain...ARGH!!!
