Here is the complete Rip-hood to Fatherhood article, as per my previous 3 posts, but available as a much easier to read PDF. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed the perspective. For me I butter everything up real good before the windy days (Give to get). On the same note this year has been a lot about getting my wife and kids really going and that has been a positive experience so far for the most part but it isn’t easy moving around and considering this much gear!!! Can be hard to make sure everyone gets their stoke in one day but I am getting better at it and am excited at the prospect of sailing with my family!

Thanks Ilan! Stoked to be getting our boys slowly into it as well. Now with the big windsurfable SUP, keen to stock up on some small & light kids rigs to get them playing. See you in SBX soon, I hope.

Fish, great article. As a windsurfing husband and father to 3 kids, I know first hand everything you've been going through. Great idea to include the others' perspectives. I think you just about captured everything a new windsurfing father needs to know with good humor, and including the supportive spouse part and returning the favor to them...very important. It does get better as they get older and able to do more things. I've found that my 3 are all very different....one likes windsurfing, another likes sup, and the other likes mtn biking...and they all like to ski, which is pretty cool since they're my 4 favorite sports....I'll always have at least one of them to do something with down the road.

Awesome article Fish. All so accurate although I am out as much as ever. Wife is hugely understanding.

Thanks for taking the time to write this article. I can appreciate the effort it took.

The article provides hope and promise of better things to come which as a father of two young boys, 4 & 6, is much needed.

Great read for anyone with kids or thinking of kids and the insights are applicable to almost any sport or obsession.
